Meet the team
Our team is made up of London architects, builders and researchers who rigorously seek innovative, sustainable ways to develop tailored solutions, all while having fun with you along the way.
With outstanding service, we support our clients through each stage of the building process, from initial ideas through to construction. For every project, we find sustainable, context-specific responses starting with the creation of a unique ‘Manifesto’ – a creative tool that taps into and defines the story of a building. Our thoughtful and proactive approach creates schemes that exceed client expectations and maximise the project’s overall value.
A London architect practice, the Studio Manifest team operates across the UK.
Ben Powell | Director | RIBA ARB
Ben is an experienced Architect and the Founding Director of Studio Manifest. He shares the practice vision – to make architect designed low energy homes more attainable for all.
Ben is also a lecturer in Architecture at the University of Suffolk and fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Working across both academia, and the construction industry, he is focused on developing meaningful dialogue between these disciplines in order to improve the long term impact that architects have on addressing some of the major societal issues that we face.
Ben has extensive experience designing beautiful, practical and liveable homes, whether it’s an extension, full refurbishment or an entirely new build.
Outside of architecture, Ben has recently taken up kitesurfing and can be found along England’s east coast beaches, camped up in his van waiting for the right swell.
Marta Borras | Associate Architect | ARB
Marta brings a rare blend of technical precision and creative agility to every project at Studio Manifest. As an ARB-registered architect with extensive experience in both the UK and Spain, she excels at navigating the complexities of high-end residential and commercial design. Our clients benefit directly from her ability to translate ambitious concepts into buildable, high-quality technical solutions, ensuring that the vision we create together is delivered with absolute rigour on site.
For Marta, architectural design goes beyond aesthetics; it is rooted in a deep commitment to material quality, craftsmanship, and wellbeing. Her diligent approach ensures that even the most challenging technical details serve the overall spatial experience. Her passion for craft extends beyond the studio; a passionate graphic designer and photographer, Marta has recently taken up pottery and knitting, to continue drawing inspiration from parallel creative disciplines.
Before joining Studio Manifest as an Associate, Marta managed diverse projects across all RIBA stages at leading practices in London and Madrid. Her architectural foundation is equally international, having completed her training at the Technical Architecture School of Madrid and the Technische Universität München.
Liv Alltree | Part II Architect
Liv brings great energy to the team, combining an amazing eye for detail with a true passion for design. Her sharp technical focus means our clients benefit from precision throughout the planning and delivery stages, ensuring that even the most complex design challenges are resolved beautifully and efficiently. Beyond her project work, Liv applies her strong visual curation skills to our practice marketing and digital storytelling, ensuring our architectural vision is beautifully and clearly communicated across our social media platforms.
She joined us after graduating from the Leicester School of Architecture with First Class Honours. She has recently returned full time as a Part II Architect after completing her Master of Architecture at the London School of Architecture.
"I have a real love for historic architecture. I think there is a great importance in celebrating existing architecture whilst embedding modern techniques and styles within to create a beautiful combination of architecture going forward."
Away from the studio, Liv is a keen netball player and loves cooking up a storm for her family and friends.
Will McKinney | Part II Architect
Will brings a fresh perspective to Studio Manifest, balancing a passion for community-led design with technical precision. For our clients, this means a highly collaborative design process that translates complex, personal briefs into functional, beautifully crafted spaces. His ability to build a genuine dialogue between people and place ensures that every project is contextually sensitive, deeply rooted in its neighbourhood, and designed to optimise both budget and layout to support the people it serves.
Will trained at the Sheffield School of Architecture, where he developed a deep interest in participatory design, community engagement, and sustainable, low-impact construction methods. He specialises in turning future users into active partners in the creative journey, ensuring the design process is inclusive, transparent, and rewarding from start to finish.
Beyond the drawing board, you’ll usually find Will exploring the outdoors through hiking and running, or discovering London’s galleries, cafés and creative scene. He’s also a keen painter and sketcher, and is rarely seen without a good coffee in hand.
Juliet Darnell | Studio Manager
Prior to joining Studio Manifest, Juliet ran her own catering company for many years, with previous roles in Marketing, Event Management and Operations.
She brings her wealth of organisational and team management experience to Studio Manifest from her home in Somerset, having escaped London life a few years ago with her young family.
She shares our passion for sustainability, and is loving the challenge of bringing her experience to an industry that can make a real difference in the climate crisis.
Cecilia Junco Lobato | Architect | ARB
Cecilia joined the team after finishing her Master’s in Architecture from the Universidad Europea in Madrid and completed her Part 3 qualifications at the University of Westminster.
She moved from her native Spain in 2020 and exactly one week into her new role, lockdown hit the UK - its a credit to Cecilia’s skills, work ethic and adaptability that Studio Manifest was able to continue despite the setbacks we all faced.
Throughout university, she was involved in different programmes in Nepal and Kenya building an orphanage and rebuilding houses using local techniques.
She enjoys making ceramics and takes any opportunity to travel and discover new places.
