Using sustainable materials to keep embodied energy low
Re-build of a grade II listed Georgian terrace that had been demolished except for a fragment of the front elevation. The house was re-made by combining traditional methods with the latest low-energy technology to create a zero-carbon listed building. As well as painstakingly reproducing the original Georgian interiors.
Application of the sprayed Hempcrete insulation was researched and developed collaboratively with the manufacturers to create a unique building that is true to the original, whilst exceeding energy efficiency requirements for modern buildings.
Reclaimed buff brickwork will sit alongside a zinc standing seam extension on the first floor.
